Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle, the largest mansion in Hampshire is today home to Lord and Lady Carnarvon. Steeped in history, this beautiful Victorian country house is set in a 24 square kilometer estate and parklands.  The castle hosts many exciting events throughout the year for the public as well as catering for private functions including weddings and conferences. Just a couple of minutes away from the Carnarvon Arms, Highclere Castle is a must see on your travels. 
Wonderful Things Exhibition
This summer Highclere Castle opens its doors to the public for the 'Wonderful Things' Exhibition.  In 1922 the 5th Earl and Howard Carter made history by discovering the tomb of Tutankhamun. It was the first and only discovery of an intact tomb of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. Visitors are taken through a fascinating display of beautiful objects found by the 5th Earl and Carter in their five years at Thebes before the discovery of Tutankhamun.
