Located just minutes away from the Carnarvon Arms, Sandham Memorial Chapel is a unique 1920s decorated chapel filled with paintings by Stanley Spencer, inspired by his experiences of the First World War. The work, which took him six years to complete is one of Spencer’s finest achievements and is an internationally recognized monument of British Art. The Memorial Chapel is set amid pleasant countryside surroundings and has great views of the Watership Downs.
